DXT, a leading construction and civil engineering company in the Nordic region, has a history deeply connected with Caterpillar machinery. Co-owner Peter Hedendahl’s journey began with his early exposure to Cat dozers in his father’s construction business.
Peter’s fascination with Cat dozers started as a child, riding in a Cat D7 dozer with his father. By the age of 16, he was fully involved in the family business, which he eventually took over in the 1970s. The company was small, with a fleet that included a Cat D8 dozer and a 953 Track Loader. Peter never imagined he could afford a D10 dozer, which seemed too large for his needs.
However, in 2016, a friend informed Peter of a rare opportunity to purchase a D10T dozer from a mining company in Northern Sweden. Peter and his partners successfully bid on the machine, a significant acquisition that led them to name their company DXT, in tribute to the D10T that changed their fortunes.
Today, DXT’s fleet includes several Cat machines, including three D10 dozers. In 2023, Peter traveled to Peoria, Illinois, to witness the assembly of the first Next Gen Cat D10 destined for Europe. The machine’s advanced technology and fuel efficiency underscore Peter’s continued loyalty to Caterpillar and the strong partnership with his dealer, Zeppelin.
