Caterpillar has upgraded its online platform, VisionLink Productivity, with three new features: Cat Grade and Compact, Operator Coaching, and E-Ticketing. This unified platform is designed to provide managers with comprehensive insights into jobsite productivity and equipment utilization. VisionLink Productivity collects and summarizes data from any subscribed machine equipped with a Cat Product Link device, ensuring seamless integration of mixed OEM equipment into a single platform.
VisionLink Productivity simplifies data management with user-friendly dashboards. These dashboards include a comprehensive jobsite summary and detailed insights with key performance indicators (KPIs). The platform analyzes standard telematics data, such as machine location, fuel burn, and idle time, providing a clear overview of machine performance. For more in-depth analysis, advanced data from machines equipped with Cat Payload, Grade, and Compact systems offer more job-specific details.
Cat Grade and Compact
The platform now incorporates Cat Grade 3D and Cat Compact data into its robust reporting capabilities. Leveraging Cat Grade Connectivity, VisionLink Productivity enables seamless distribution of 3D design files and updates to all machines at the job site, eliminating the need for USB uploads. This feature improves accuracy through GNSS corrections for position validation, rather than requiring a costly base station setup for short projects. Additionally, Grade Connectivity minimizes machine downtime by reducing the need for onsite technician visits to diagnose Grade-related issues, thereby enhancing overall jobsite productivity.
VisionLink Productivity’s Cat Compact summary dashboards display the amount of work completed each day and calculate the fill volume. Using the Cat Compaction Algorithm (CCA) or Landfill Compaction Algorithm (LCA), the platform shows the percentage of covered area at target compaction. For landfill applications, it also allows operators to view material compaction density by entering weights per day.
Operator Coaching and E-Ticketing
The new Operator Coaching feature helps improve operator performance by providing feedback and recommendations based on data collected from the machines. This feature is designed to enhance operator skills, leading to increased productivity and efficiency on the jobsite.
E-Ticketing streamlines the ticketing process by providing electronic tickets for material deliveries and other transactions. This feature reduces paperwork, enhances accuracy, and improves overall efficiency in managing jobsite logistics.
