Land clearing often involves more than simply cutting down trees. Contractors must also control falling timber, move branches, organize debris and prepare the site for its next stage. To help simplify these operations, Werk-Brau has introduced its new TS Series Tree Shear attachments, designed to combine cutting, gripping, rotating and material handling in one versatile tool.
The TS Series is built for demanding vegetation management and forestry applications. It features continuous 360-degree rotation, a removable Hardox cutting blade, felling support, Bluetooth rotation control, grapple functionality and Werk-Brau’s patented eBoost hydraulic technology. Together, these features aim to improve operator control and reduce the need to switch between multiple attachments.
## One Attachment for Cutting and Handling Trees
The TS Series is designed to cut trees and then handle the material without requiring operators to change equipment. Depending on the model, the attachment can cut trees measuring up to 8, 10 or 12.5 inches in diameter.
Its continuous 360-degree rotation allows operators to reposition cut trees and place them into organized piles. This capability is particularly useful for roadside clearing, fence-line maintenance, utility corridors, field edges and storm-damage cleanup, where controlling the direction and placement of timber can make a significant difference to jobsite efficiency.
Another practical feature is the removable Hardox cutting blade. With the blade installed, the attachment functions as a tree shear. Once removed, it can be used for grapple-style material handling. The blade can also be sharpened while installed on the machine or removed for off-site maintenance.
## Hydraulic Technology Improves Control and Productivity
Werk-Brau has equipped the TS Series with its patented eBoost hydraulic technology. The system automatically manages oil flow and pressure in real time, directing hydraulic power where it is needed to support faster attachment movement while maintaining working force.
The attachment also includes a felling support system to help operators manage trees during cutting and placement. Bluetooth-connected rotation controls provide convenient operation from the machine cab, while the hydraulic system requires only one set of dual-acting hydraulic lines.
These features are intended to make the attachment easier to integrate with different carriers and help operators complete repetitive clearing tasks with fewer repositioning movements.
## Compatible With Multiple Equipment Types
Werk-Brau offers TS Series models for excavators ranging from 3 to 20 metric tons. The lineup also covers skid steers, compact track loaders, compact and full-size wheel loaders, and telehandlers ranging from 1.3 to 21 metric tons.
The attachments are suitable for energy wood harvesting, selective tree removal, brush clearing, roadside maintenance, utility right-of-way management, landscaping and wildfire prevention work. They are manufactured in Finland using Hardox steel and distributed through Werk-Brau’s dealer network.
For contractors, the biggest advantage is the ability to use one attachment for several stages of a land-clearing operation. Combining cutting, gripping, rotation and stacking can reduce attachment changes, improve material control and help crews make better use of existing equipment.
As forestry and land-clearing attachments become more versatile, maintaining the carrier machine is equally important. Hydraulic components, tracks, rollers, sprockets and other undercarriage parts all contribute to reliable operation in demanding working conditions.
